What Does A Little Rain Bring?

It's Amazing what the hand of God can do. I can water every day from the hose and see a little growth at a time, but when God sends forth rain, everything seems to double in size. Just take a look at God's "Handiwork"

Harvesting Beans Daily for Dinner

What a nice surprise to see that we are having just the right amount of Beans for dinner. If I have a few too many, they keep nicely in the refrigerator for a day or two. When they begin to come too fast I will be getting out the Food Dehydrator and saving them for another time. But for the two of us, so far, its the perfect daily harvest.

Beans for Two:

Green & Yellow Beans for dinner
Corning dish, about 3 tablespoons
of water, cover & micro on high for
approximately 4-5 minutes
Serve hot with a little butter

Potatoes

As you may recall a couple weeks ago I wrote about the potato seeds that I had ordered. Well ~ I planted them and they are thriving. I have already started mounding the soil up around them. I started with about 3 inches of soil when I planted them. Now there is about 5 inches. I will continue to mound up the soil around the base of the plants as they grow.  Take a look:

New RULES for Outdoor Gardening

After a nasty run-in with pesky insects and various critters native to South Carolina, I have been forced to create RULES for my outdoor gardening. Therefore, I will not be outside unless fully equipped for battle with nature!

So, yesterday I went online shopping at my favorite store:  Amazon  and this is what I ordered: Tingley Men's 15" Economy PVC Knee Boot

For only $20.82 & free shipping, I can be safe and secure from those pesky varmints of the South!  The boots are now a necessary protection along with my hat and gloves that I already wear.  I have decided to be faithful about wearing them all!

So feast your eyes on the spectacle in her back yard, gardening with her protection on, following the New RULES for Outdoor Gardening!

She will be well equipped with BOOTS, STRAW HAT & GLOVES!

And by all means.....Be Safe & Happy Gardening!
